Make Friends With Your Fast

And that pretty much wraps it up for the WV series by Crispin Porter. For a while, at least. Turns out there's a fast in everyone and it looks like a bad-ass little bowling ball with eyes. Below, a short preview of the "experiment" that accompanied the campaign. A bit boring but go ahead and look up all the clips if you're really curious. But then again, don't.

Amazing poster. Mouse over to check out the equally amazing solved version, here.

Pizza Turnaround

The "Oh yes we did" at the end is fucking bull's eye. Hats off for one of the greatest pizza campaigns ever.

Safe Happens

Part of Crispin Porter's series for VW that also includes the Backseat Driver's Manual I posted a few days ago.

Wet Noses

Had no idea dogs eat this kind of stuff. Anyway, best dog food name I know.

Backseat Driver's Manual

Part of CP+B's VW campaign centered around safety. Reminds me of Mitch Hedberg's joke: everytime someone gives me a leaflet it's like they say 'Here, you throw this away'.

Blithering Idiot

If that's what this beer's gonna turn you into, why not name it exactly that?

The Publican

Ran across these by accident. The bartender/pub-owner-bartender is definitely a character that beer campaigns could have leveraged more. It's actually a bit surprising they haven't. Anyway, Rosso looks like the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with. Get some of that pub wisdom straight from the source. Cheers, mate!

Men Look Much Better in Slow Motion

It would've been a cool ad without the opera-rewrite voice-over, it's a great one with it. Also, the slogan seems to be bound to become a classic.

The Counter Counterfeit Commission

I like the Counter Counterfeit Commission so much, I wanna take it behind the school and get it pregnant (paraphrasing Tracy Jordan). Actually I'm using it as a user name for this blog, but you can't see that 'cause it just shows up on the log-in dashboard. And I deactivated the "show to the public" feature or whatever that is. Anyway, hands down one of my favorite automotive campaigns.

Clicking Frenzy

World's most awesome web banner. Check it out, it's worth it. But don't click above, it's just a pic. I couldn't embed it so click here for the most incredible experience of trigger-happy clicking.

One-second Commercials

Miller High Life bought one-second slots to air their commercials during the 2009 Superbowl. I'm not sure if the 30-seconds intro commercial also aired during the Superbowl. I'm guessing no, since that would have been the opposite of the whole point. Also, "football-shaped salami" is probably my favorite one-second ad ever.

Zuji Beans

"Helping holidays happen" is probably the most honest travel-related slogan I've heard. And as the clip points it out, it's pretty neat to get people to pay for your ads - even if the ads are edible.

No Nonsense

Classic TV ad series plus a selection of whatever else I could find. Kind of in the same line of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Help I Have a Headache

Working on some pharma stuff at the moment and we were planning to rename some medications according to real phrases people use to talk about specific health issues. Runningnose and Ihaveheartburn and things like that. Sure enough, somebody else did it so we had to fall out of love with the idea. Pearlfisher did a great job redesigning Help Remedies products.

And Droga5 did an even more amazing job with their Help, I Want to Save a Life project. Take a look at the campaign clip below.

Nothing Soft Gets In

For quite a long time, I've had a soft spot for copywriting that doesn't necessarily rhyme or use any pretentious literary devices. "Everything Counts" from two posts ago was simple, insightful and real. "Nothing Soft Gets In" is simple, insightful and beautifully executed.

Beware of Things Made in October

Sorry for the intro, but all the other versions on YouTube were really crappy quality.

Everything Counts

It doesn't sound like great copywriting but then again great copywriting is not just about what something sounds like. Everything you do actually counts in terms of exercising. It's incredibly true and that's why I think it's great.

Will Ferrell Will Do Anything to Get You to Vote

I'm starting to think I'll post anything as long as it has Will Ferrell in it. I'm curious if he actually did anything for anyone. I'm doing a search right now. Update, no time to do the search anymore.

The Last Place You Want To Go

I always have second thoughts about campaign ideas that can turn out mischievous at any point. I just feel bad and usually think a campaign opportunity shouldn't be wasted on saying mean stuff. I guess I'm just going soft and it's not ok. Here's a pretty ballsy (and insightful) campaign that actually made it through.

Happy Inside

Thumbs up for the slogan, double thumbs up for the insight. If you want to take a look at the making-of, it's right here:

Most Valuable Puppets

There's a whole series, just search for Nike MVPuppets on YouTube. But this is kind of the funniest bit, so don't bother.

Search Engine for the Real World

Part of a real-life-quest-game campaign made by W+K. Watch the two of the winners tell their story below.

Rihanna for Celebrity Tap

Part of the great Unicef Tap Project by Droga 5. A good example of how a plain-looking ad can turn into a not-so-plain ad by adding a good voice-over. If you want to take a look at the product packaging, do it here.

Your Dad Was Pretty Cool, Especially If He Was Anything Like This Dad

Can't think of anything to say about these, maybe except for the fact that they tend to pop up when we talk about very different topics. Can't think of any examples. Anyway. I probably shouldn't have said anything..

Jackie Moon & Old Spice

I forgot Jackie didn't just do endorsements for Bud Light. But then again, how could I forget the unforgettable?

Second Puberty & Frank Sack

I think this is the sequel to the Shave Everywhere campaign, as far as I remember. The video is pretty boring so you can skip it. But "Second Puberty" deserves a thumbs up both as an insight and as a campaign name. Anyway, the story of Frank Sack, mentioned in the end, deserves to be told. Watch it below.

Bodygrooming

The intro to the Shave Everywhere campaign website for Philips Norelco's bodygrooming kits. Unfortunately the site is nowhere to be found at the moment. Had shitloads of cool stuff and went viral at the time.

Miles Melman

One more for the animated animal/monster miniseries. Miles Melman's a lot less irritable since he's changed his diet and started doing pilates.

Miller Auditions

Apparently it's actually a spin on the Budweiser lizards posted earlier. Actual actor auditions were used and the animation was created leaving from those. Bear is awesome, raccoon's a bit boring but still with some good bits, goose, otter and the turtle are so boring I didn't even bother to post them.

42 Below

Ran across these today. I especially like the promotion poster, even though it's more generic - it's the kind you tend to write when you get the brief but it never quite makes it through in the actual original phrasing. Well this time it apparently did.

Good Food Deserves Lurpak

Working on a food campaign and just remembered the "Good food deserves Lurpak" campaign(s). Great copy, mouthwatering images. And a brilliant example of giving a brand a relevant voice.
