This Is One of Them

As the name promptly points it out, Newcastle Brown Ale is far from being your typical lager. However, Droga 5 decided to completely ignore any potential storytelling starting points related to either the Newcastle part or the ale part and just do an honest campaign about beer. One of the many perfectly reasonable options. Check out the entire case study here.

Our Blades Are Fucking Great

Alejandro is either one of those kids whose faces look like they're smiling all the time even in situations when they're really not supposed to - like when the doctor's examining them for instance, or he was high. Also, he looks like a girl. Aslo, he looks of a really uncertain age. Also, I'm not generally a fan of word play, especially in slogans or headlines - but "shave time, shave money" actually made me smile. Also, I thought I could add one more "also" just to get the final count up to 5. It's a fair number of "also's" for a paragraph. There, 6.

Like You Hate It

Great headline - and actually, great idea (like pretty much all great headlines). Check projectrebrief for an excellent reimagination of the ad for contemporary digital advertising, along with three other iconic commercials from the same period.

I Like To Pinch

Part of a whole series I couldn't find anywhere else but on YouTube. So if you like it just look up "Honda Element Ad".

Making Things Right

Considering the last two posts you might think I have a thing for Crispin Porter's work, which I do. Here's another great print campaign from 2006.

Molson Twin Labels

Excellent campaign from Crispin Porter for Molson Canadian. Apparently over 250 icons were originally created. Labels served as conversation starters and the whole campaign tried to help men appear more attractive to girls. Read about the details here and about other equally great executions here. And a few more labels below - sorry I couldn't find anything with a higher resolution.
